حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْأَعْلَى، عَنْ مَعْمَرٍ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، عَنْ سَالِمٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، أَنَّ عُمَرَ بْنَ الْخَطَّابِ حَمَلَ عَلَى فَرَسٍ فِي سَبِيلِ اللهِ، فَوَجَدَهَا تُبَاعُ، فَسَأَلَ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنْ شِرَائِهَا؟ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " لَا تَعُدْ فِي صَدَقَتِكَ " (٣)، ،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that once Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) gave a horse to someone in the way of Allah for riding. Later, he saw that the horse was being sold in the market. He thought to himself that he should buy it, so he consulted the Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ). The Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) said: Do not take back your charity.
