حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ، وَعَبْدُ الْجَبَّارِ بْنُ وَرْدٍ، رَجُلَانِ مِنْ أَهْلِ مَكَّةَ، سَمِعَاهُ مِنَ ابْنِ أَبِي مُلَيْكَةَ، عَنْ أَسْمَاءَ بِنْتِ أَبِي بَكْرٍ، أَنَّهَا سَأَلَتِ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: أَنَّ الزُّبَيْرِ رَجُلٌ شَدِيدٌ، يَأْتِينِي الْمِسْكِينُ، فَأَتَصَدَّقُ عَلَيْهِ مِنْ بَيْتِهِ بِغَيْرِ إِذْنِهِ؟ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " ارْضَخِي، وَلَا تُوعِي، فَيُوعِيَ اللهُ عَلَيْكِ " (٢)، ،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Asma that once I said to the Prophet (peace be upon him) that I have nothing to give in charity except what Zubair brings home. The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: Spend and do not count, lest you also be counted against.
