Translation

English translation

Once, the nephew of Maymunah, Ibn Abbas, came to her. She said, "Son, what is the matter that your hair appears disheveled?" He replied that the woman who combs his hair, Umm Ammar, is in her days (of menstruation). Maymunah said, "Son, what do the days have to do with the hands? The Prophet (peace be upon him) would come to one of us and she would be in her days, and the Prophet (peace be upon him) would place his head in her lap while she was in her days and recite the Holy Qur'an. Then she would stand up and spread the mat for the Prophet (peace be upon him), and in that state, she would place it at the place where the Prophet (peace be upon him) would pray. Son, what do the days have to do with the hands?"
