حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ يَعْنِي ابْنَ مُبَارَكٍ، قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ يَزِيدَ وَهُوَ أَبُو شُجَاعٍ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ عَبْدَ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنَ هُرْمُزَ الْأَعْرَجَ، يَقُولُ: حَدَّثَنِي نَاعِمٌ، مَوْلَى أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ، أَنَّ أُمَّ سَلَمَةَ، سُئِلَتْ: أَتَغْتَسِلُ الْمَرْأَةُ مَعَ الرَّجُلِ؟ فَقَالَتْ: نَعَمْ، إِذَا كَانَتْ كَيِّسَةً " رَأَيْتُنِي وَرَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ نَغْتَسِلُ مِنْ مِرْكَنٍ وَاحِدٍ، نُفِيضُ عَلَى أَيْدِينَا حَتَّى نُنْقِيَهَا، ثُمَّ نُفِيضُ عَلَيْنَا الْمَاءَ " (١)،
Translation
English translation
Someone asked Umm Salamah (may Allah be pleased with her) whether a woman can perform ghusl (ritual bath) with a man. She replied, "Yes, as long as she is sensible (meaning, she is his wife). I have seen the time when I and the Prophet (ﷺ) used to perform ghusl from the same tub. First, we would pour water over our hands and clean them thoroughly, then we would pour water over our bodies."
