English translation

Abu Abdullah Jasri says that once I was present in the service of Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her), and Hafsa (may Allah be pleased with her) was also present with her. Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) said to me, "This is Hafsa (may Allah be pleased with her), the honorable wife of the Prophet (ﷺ)." Then, turning to her, she said, "I ask you by oath, if I say something wrong, do not confirm me, and if I say something right, do not deny me. Do you remember that once you and I were with the Prophet (ﷺ), and the Prophet (ﷺ) fell unconscious? I asked you, 'Do you think the Prophet (ﷺ) has passed away?' You said, 'I do not know.' Then the Prophet (ﷺ) regained consciousness and said, 'Open the door.' I asked you, 'Has my father come or yours?' You replied, 'I do not know.' We opened the door and there stood Uthman bin Affan (may Allah be pleased with him). The Prophet (ﷺ), seeing him, said, 'Come near me.' He leaned over the Prophet (ﷺ), and the Prophet (ﷺ) whispered something to him, which neither you nor I know. Then the Prophet (ﷺ) raised his head and said, 'Did you understand what I said?' Uthman (may Allah be pleased with him) replied, 'Yes.' Three times this whispering and questioning happened, and after that, the Prophet (ﷺ) said to him, 'Now you may go.' Hafsa (may Allah be pleased with her) said, 'By Allah, it is exactly as you said, and this is true.'"
