حَدَّثَنَا يُونُسُ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ يَعْنِي ابْنَ زَيْدٍ، عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ، أَنَّهَا قَالَتْ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، كُلُّ صَوَاحِبِي لَهَا كُنْيَةٌ غَيْرِي. قَالَ: " فَاكْتَنِي بِابْنِكِ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ الزُّبَيْرِ " فَكَانَتْ تُدْعَى بِأُمِّ عَبْدِ اللهِ حَتَّى مَاتَتْ (٣)،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that once I submitted in the court of the Messenger, "O Messenger of Allah! Every wife of yours has a kunyah (honorific name) except me?" The Prophet (peace be upon him) said, "Take your kunyah from your son (nephew) Abdullah." Thus, until her death, she was called "Umm Abdullah."
