Original Arabic
حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَوَانَةَ، عَنْ سِمَاكٍ، عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ، - زَعَمَ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَهُ مِنْهَا - أَنَّهَا رَأَتِ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَدْعُو، ، رَافِعًا يَدَيْهِ يَقُولُ: " اللهُمَّ إِنِّي بَشَرٌ فَلَا تُعَاقِبْنِي، أَيُّمَا رَجُلٍ مِنَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ آذَيْتُهُ وَشَتَمْتُهُ، فَلَا تُعَاقِبْنِي فِيهِ " (١)،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that once she saw the Prophet (ﷺ) spreading his hands in supplication and saying: O Allah! I am also a human being, so if I have struck or caused harm to any of Your servants, then do not hold me accountable for it.
