Original Arabic
حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ، أَخْبَرَنَا سَعِيدٌ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ، عَنْ مُعَاذَةَ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ، قَالَتْ: مُرْنَ أَزْوَاجَكُنَّ أَنْ يَغْسِلُوا عَنْهُمْ أَثَرَ الْغَائِطِ وَالْبَوْلِ، فَإِنِّي أَسْتَحْيِيهِمْ، وَإِنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَدْ كَانَ يَفْعَلُهُ " (١)،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that some women from Basra came to her, so she instructed them to perform istinja with water and said: "Order your husbands to do the same, because the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) used to perform istinja with water."
