حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ، وَيَزِيدُ الْمَعْنَى، قَالَا أَخْبَرَنَا الْجُرَيْرِيُّ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ شَقِيقٍ، قَالَ: قُلْتُ لِعَائِشَةَ: أَكَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقْرِنُ (٣) السُّوَرَ؟ قَالَتْ: " الْمُفَصَّلَ "، قُلْتُ: أَكَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " يُصَلِّي قَاعِدًا؟ قَالَتْ: نَعَمْ، بَعْدَمَا حَطَمَهُ النَّاسُ "، قُلْتُ: أَكَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُصَلِّي الضُّحَى؟ قَالَتْ: " لَا إِلَّا أَنْ يَجِيءَ مِنْ مَغِيبِهِ "، قُلْتُ: أَكَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَصُومُ شَهْرًا سِوَى رَمَضَانَ؟ قَالَتْ: " لَا وَاللهِ إِنْ صَامَ شَهْرًا تَامًّا سِوَى رَمَضَانَ، وَلَا أَفْطَرَهُ كُلَّهُ حَتَّى يَصُومَ مِنْهُ شَيْئًا "، قُلْتُ: أَيُّ، ، أَصْحَابِ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ أَحَبَّ إِلَيْهِ؟ قَالَتْ: أَبُو بَكْرٍ، قُلْتُ: ثُمَّ مَنْ؟ قَالَتْ: ثُمَّ عُمَرُ، قُلْتُ: ثُمَّ مَنْ؟ قَالَتْ أَبُو عُبَيْدَةَ بْنُ الْجَرَّاحِ، قَالَ: يَزِيدُ قُلْتُ: ثُمَّ مَنْ؟ قَالَ: فَسَكَتَتْ " (١)، ،
Translation
English translation
Abdullah bin Shaqiq says that once I asked Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her), "Did the Prophet (ﷺ) recite several surahs in one rak'ah?" She replied, "The Mufassalat." I asked Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her), "Did the Prophet (ﷺ) pray while sitting?" She replied, "He started doing so after the number of people increased." I asked Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her), "Did the Prophet (ﷺ) use to pray the Duha prayer?" She replied, "No, except when he returned from a journey." I asked Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her), "Did the Prophet (ﷺ) ever fast the entire month?" She replied, "I do not know of any month, except Ramadan, in which the Prophet (ﷺ) fasted the entire month, and I do not know of any month in which he did not fast at all." Abdullah says, "I asked Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her), 'Who was the most beloved to the Prophet (ﷺ) among his companions?' She replied, 'Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him).' I asked, 'After him?' She replied, 'Umar.' I asked, 'After him?' She replied, 'Abu Ubaidah bin Jarrah.' I asked, 'After him?' Then she remained silent."
