حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ، عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ، عَنْ أَبِي الضُّحَى، عَنْ مَسْرُوقٍ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ، قَالَتْ: رَخَّصَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي بَعْضِ الْأَمْرِ، فَرَغِبَ عَنْهُ رِجَالٌ، فَقَالَ: " مَا بَالُ رِجَالٍ آمُرُهُمُ الْأَمْرَ يَرْغَبُونَ عَنْهُ، وَاللهِ إِنِّي لَأَعْلَمُهُمْ بِاللهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ، وَأَشَدُّهُمْ لَهُ خَشْيَةً " (٢)،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Prophet (ﷺ) once granted a concession in a certain matter, but some people refrained from accepting that concession. The Prophet (ﷺ) said: "What is the matter with people that they turn away from things in which I have been given concession? By Allah, I am the one who knows Allah the most among them and fears Him the most among them."
