حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنَا سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ أَيُّوبَ السَّخْتِيَانِيِّ، عَنِ ابْنِ سِيرِينَ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ شَقِيقٍ الْعُقَيْلِيِّ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ، قَالَتْ: " كَانَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُصَلِّي لَيْلًا طَوِيلًا قَائِمًا، وَلَيْلًا طَوِيلًا قَاعِدًا " قَالَ: قُلْتُ: كَيْفَ كَانَ يَصْنَعُ؟ قَالَتْ: " كَانَ إِذَا قَرَأَ قَائِمًا رَكَعَ قَائِمًا، وَإِذَا قَرَأَ قَاعِدًا رَكَعَ قَاعِدًا " (٢)،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) regarding the voluntary prayers of the Prophet (ﷺ) that in the night prayer, the Prophet (ﷺ) would stand for a long time and would sit for quite a while. The Prophet (ﷺ) would also recite, bow, and prostrate while standing.
