Translation

English translation

It is narrated from Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that once the Prophet (ﷺ) took an oath that he would not go to his pure wives for a month. After 29 days had passed, the Prophet (ﷺ) came to me first. So I said, "Did you not take an oath for a month? According to my count, today is the 29th day." The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "Sometimes a month is also of 29 days." Then the Prophet (ﷺ) said, "O Aisha! I want to mention something before you; do not make any decision in this matter without consulting your parents." I asked, "What is that matter?" The Prophet (ﷺ) called me and recited this verse: "O Prophet! Say to your wives: If you desire Allah and His Messenger and the home of the Hereafter..." I said, "Will I consult my parents in this matter? I choose Allah and His Messenger." Upon this, the Prophet (ﷺ) became very happy.
