Translation

English translation

It is narrated from Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) regarding the command of Allah Almighty: إِنَّ الصَّفَا وَالْمَرْوَةَ مِنْ شَعَائِرِ اللَّهِ that before accepting Islam, the people of Ansar used to assume Ihram for "Manat" and worshipped it near Mushallal, and whoever assumed Ihram for it considered performing Sa'i between Safa and Marwah a sin. Then they asked the Prophet (peace be upon him), "O Messenger of Allah! In the days of ignorance, people used to consider Sa'i between Safa and Marwah a sin; what is its ruling now?" Upon this, Allah revealed this verse that Safa and Marwah are among the symbols of Allah, so whoever performs Hajj or Umrah, there is no sin upon him in making Tawaf of them.
