Translation

English translation

It is narrated from Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that once she asked the Prophet (ﷺ) about the meaning of this verse: "Those who give what they give while their hearts are fearful because they will return to their Lord." She submitted, "O Messenger of Allah! Is it about the person who commits theft, adultery, and drinks alcohol, and then fears Allah?" The Prophet (ﷺ) replied, "No, O daughter of Abu Bakr, O daughter of Siddiq! This verse is about the person who performs prayer, fasts, and gives charity, and then fears Allah."
