حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بِشْرٍ، حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامُ بْنُ عُرْوَةَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ، أَنَّ الْحَارِثَ بْنَ هِشَامٍ سَأَلَ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: كَيْفَ يَأْتِيكَ الْوَحْيُ؟ قَالَ: " أَحْيَانًا يَأْتِينِي فِي مِثْلِ صَلْصَلَةِ الْجَرَسِ، وَهُوَ أَشَدُّهُ عَلَيَّ، ثُمَّ يُفْصَمُ عَنِّي وَقَدْ وَعَيْتُ، وَأَحْيَانًا يَأْتِينِي مَلَكٌ فِي مِثْلِ صُورَةِ الرَّجُلِ، فَأَعِي مَا يَقُولُ " (١)، ،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that once Harith bin Hisham (may Allah be pleased with him) asked the Prophet (ﷺ), "How does revelation come to you?" The Prophet (ﷺ) replied, "Sometimes revelation comes to me with a sound like the ringing of a bell; this form is the hardest upon me, but when this state departs from me, I have understood the divine message. And sometimes the angel comes to me in the form of a man and speaks to me, and I remember what he says."
