حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الْمُقْرِئُ، حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ يَعْنِي ابْنَ أَبِي أَيُّوبَ، حَدَّثَنِي عُقَيْلٌ، عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ، أَنَّهَا قَالَتْ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " مَنْ حَمَلَ مِنْ أُمَّتِي دَيْنًا، ثُمَّ جَهَدَ فِي قَضَائِهِ، ثُمَّ مَاتَ قَبْلَ أَنْ يَقْضِيَهُ، فَأَنَا وَلِيُّهُ " (٢)،

Translation

English translation

It is narrated from Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Prophet (ﷺ) said: Whoever from my Ummah takes on the burden of an obligation and strives to fulfill it, but passes away while trying to discharge it and is unable to pay off the debt, then I am his guardian.
