حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ، حَدَّثَنَا كَهْمَسٌ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ شَقِيقٍ، قَالَ: سَأَلْتُ عَائِشَةَ، عَنْ صَوْمِ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ؟ فَقَالَتْ: " مَا عَلِمْتُهُ صَامَ شَهْرًا حَتَّى يُفْطِرَ مِنْهُ، وَلَا أَفْطَرَ حَتَّى يَصُومَ مِنْهُ، حَتَّى مَضَى لِسَبِيلِهِ " (١)،
Translation
English translation
Abdullah bin Shaqiq (may Allah have mercy on him) says that I asked Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) about the voluntary fasts of the Prophet (ﷺ), so she replied that I do not know of any month in which the Prophet (ﷺ) fasted continuously without skipping, or if he skipped, then he did not fast at all, until the Prophet (ﷺ) departed from this world.
