Musnad Ahmad Hadith 24920

It is narrated from Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that once some sounds reached the ears of the Prophet (ﷺ). The Prophet (ﷺ) asked, "What are these sounds?" People informed him that date palm grafting was taking place. The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "If these people do not do grafting, perhaps it will be better for them." Consequently, the people did not do grafting that year, due to which the date crop was not good that year. When the Prophet (ﷺ) inquired about the reason, the companions submitted that, upon your instruction, people did not do grafting. The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "If it is a worldly matter of yours, then you know it better than I do, and if it is a matter of religion, then bring it to me."
