حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَارِثِ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا حَبِيبٌ الْمُعَلِّمُ، عَنْ أَبِي الْمُهَزِّمِ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ، أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: " فِي ذُيُولِ النِّسَاءِ شِبْرًا "، قَالَ: فَقَالَتْ عَائِشَةُ: إِذَنْ تَخْرُجَ سُوقُهُنَّ، وَقَالَ عَفَّانُ مَرَّةً: أَسْوُقُهُنَّ، قَالَ: " فَذِرَاعٌ " (٢)،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Aisha that the Prophet (peace be upon him) stated the length of women's garments to be one handspan. I said, "In that case, their shins will become visible." The Prophet (peace be upon him) said, "Then make it a cubit."
