حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ، عَنْ ابْنِ إِسْحَاقَ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ عَبَّادٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَبَّادِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ الزُّبَيْرِ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ، قَالَتْ: قَدِمَتْ عَلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ حِلْيَةٌ مِنْ عِنْدِ النَّجَاشِيِّ، أَهْدَاهَا لَهُ، فِيهَا خَاتَمٌ مِنْ ذَهَبٍ فِيهِ فَصٌّ حَبَشِيٌّ، فَأَخَذَهُ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِعُودٍ بِبَعْضِ أَصَابِعِهِ مُعْرِضًا عَنْهُ، ثُمَّ دَعَا أُمَامَةَ بِنْتَ أَبِي الْعَاصِ ابْنَةَ ابْنَتِهِ، فَقَالَ: " تَحَلَّيْ بِهَذَا يَا بُنَيَّةُ " (١)، ،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Aisha that once a gift came to the Prophet (peace be upon him) from the Negus, which included a gold necklace with an Abyssinian gem set in it. The Prophet (peace be upon him) picked it up indifferently with a stick and called his granddaughter Umamah bint Abi Al-As and said, "Dear daughter! Wear this jewelry."
