Original Arabic
قَالَ عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ: وَجَدْتُ هَذَا الْحَدِيثَ فِي كِتَابِ أَبِي بِخَطِّ يَدِهِ، حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ التَّيْمِيُّ وَهُوَ الْعَيْشِيُّ (١) قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنَا حَمَّادٌ، عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ، عَنْ عُرْوَةَ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: " وَالَّذِي نَفْسِي بِيَدِهِ، إِنَّهُمْ لَيَبْكُونَ عَلَيْهِ، وَإِنَّهُ لَيُعَذَّبُ فِي قَبْرِهِ بِذَنْبِهِ " (٢)،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Prophet (ﷺ) said: By Him in Whose hand is my soul, people are weeping over the deceased while he is being punished in his grave because of his sins.
