حَدَّثَنَا مَنْصُورُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا لَيْثٌ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ الْهَادِ، عَنْ عَمْرٍو، عَنِ الْمُطَّلِبِ بْنِ حَنْطَبٍ، أَنَّ عَبْدَ اللهِ بْنَ عَامِرٍ بَعَثَ إِلَى عَائِشَةَ بِنَفَقَةٍ وَكِسْوَةٍ، فَقَالَتْ لِلرَّسُولِ: إِنِّي يَا بُنَيَّ، لَا أَقْبَلُ مِنْ أَحَدٍ شَيْئًا، فَلَمَّا خَرَجَ قَالَتْ:، ، رُدُّوهُ عَلَيَّ، فَرَدُّوهُ، فَقَالَتْ: إِنِّي ذَكَرْتُ شَيْئًا قَالَهُ لِي رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: " يَا عَائِشَةُ، مَنْ أَعْطَاكِ عَطَاءً بِغَيْرِ مَسْأَلَةٍ، فَاقْبَلِيهِ، فَإِنَّمَا هُوَ رِزْقٌ عَرَضَهُ اللهُ لَكِ " (١)،
Translation
English translation
Matlib bin Hantab (may Allah have mercy on him) says that once Abdullah bin Amir (may Allah have mercy on him) sent some sustenance and clothes to Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her). She said to the messenger, "Son! I do not accept anything from anyone." When he was about to leave, she said, "Call him back." People called him back. Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) said, "I remembered something that the Prophet (ﷺ) said to me: 'O Aisha! If someone presents you with a gift without you asking for it, then accept it, because it is sustenance that Allah has sent to you.'"
