حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى (١) أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ لَهِيعَةَ، وَمُوسَى بْنُ دَاوُدَ قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ لَهِيعَةَ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللهِ بْنِ أَبِي جَعْفَرٍ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ جَعْفَرِ بْنِ الزُّبَيْرِ، عَنْ عُرْوَةَ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ، أَنَّهَا سَأَلَتْ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى الله عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّم وَقَالَ مُوسَى: إِنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: " مَنْ مَاتَ وَعَلَيْهِ صِيَامٌ " قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " يَصُومُ عَنْهُ وَلِيُّهُ " (٢)، ،

Translation

English translation

It is narrated from Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Prophet (ﷺ) said: If a person dies and there are some fasts due upon him, then his guardian should fast on his behalf.
