Original Arabic
حَدَّثَنَا شُجَاعُ بْنُ الْوَلِيدِ، قَالَ: ذَكَرَهُ قَابُوسُ بْنُ أَبِي ظَبْيَانَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ سَلْمَانَ، قَالَ: قَالَ لِي رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " يَا سَلْمَانُ لَا تُبْغِضْنِي فَتُفَارِقَ دِينَكَ " قَالَ: قُلْتُ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، وَكَيْفَ أُبْغِضُكَ وَبِكَ هَدَانَا اللهُ؟ قَالَ: " تُبْغِضُ الْعَرَبَ فَتُبْغِضُنِي " (١)،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Salman Farsi (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said to me: O Salman! Do not bear hatred against me, otherwise you will separate from your religion. I said: O Messenger of Allah! How can I bear hatred against you when Allah has granted us guidance through you? The Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: If you hate the Arabs, you will be among those who hate me.
