حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْيَمَانِ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعَيْبٌ، عَنْ الزُّهْرِيِّ،، ، حَدَّثَنِي عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ ثَعْلَبَةَ بْنِ صُعَيْرٍ الْعُذْرِيُّ، قَالَ:، وَكَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَدْ مَسَحَ وَجْهَهُ زَمَنَ الْفَتْحِ، ": أَنَّهُ رَأَى سَعْدَ بْنَ أَبِي وَقَّاصٍ، كَانَ سَعْدٌ قَدْ شَهِدَ بَدْرًا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، يُوتِرُ بِرَكْعَةٍ وَاحِدَةٍ بَعْدَ صَلَاةِ الْعِشَاءِ، يَعْنِي الْعَتَمَةَ، لَا يَزِيدُ عَلَيْهَا حَتَّى يَقُومَ مِنْ جَوْفِ اللَّيْلِ " (١)،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Abdullah bin Thalabah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (ﷺ) passed his hand over his face, and he saw Sa’d bin Abi Waqqas (may Allah be pleased with him) performing one rak’ah of Witr, to which he would not add anything, until he would wake up at midnight.
