حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ أَبِي (٣) الْمُغِيرَةِ، عَنْ حُذَيْفَةَ قَالَ: كَانَ فِي لِسَانِي ذَرَبٌ عَلَى أَهْلِي، وَكَانَ ذَلِكَ لَا يَعْدُوهُمْ إِلَى غَيْرِهِمْ، فَشَكَوْتُ ذَلِكَ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: " فَأَيْنَ أَنْتَ مِنَ الِاسْتِغْفَارِ يَا حُذَيْفَةُ، إِنِّي لَأَسْتَغْفِرُ اللهَ فِي الْيَوْمِ مِائَةَ مَرَّةٍ " (٤)، ،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Hudhaifa (may Allah be pleased with him) that when speaking with my family, I could not control my tongue, although this did not happen with others. I mentioned this to the Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ), so the Prophet (ﷺ) said: "Hudhaifa! Why are you negligent of seeking forgiveness? I myself repent and seek forgiveness from Allah a hundred times every day."
