حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ، عَنْ صِلَةَ بْنِ زُفَرَ، عَنْ حُذَيْفَةَ قَالَ: جَاءَ الْعَاقِبُ وَالسَّيِّدُ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَا:، ، أَرْسِلْ مَعَنَا رَجُلًا أَمِينًا، فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " سَأُرْسِلُ مَعَكُمَا (١) رَجُلًا أَمِينًا أَمِينًا أَمِينًا " (٢) ، قَالَ: فَجَثَا لَهَا أَصْحَابُ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَلَى الرُّكَبِ، قَالَ: فَبَعَثَ أَبَا عُبَيْدَةَ بْنَ الْجَرَّاحِ (٣)،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Hudhaifa (may Allah be pleased with him) that once two men named Aqib and Sayyid came from Najran. They said to the Holy Prophet (ﷺ), "O Messenger of Allah! Please send with us a trustworthy man." The Holy Prophet (ﷺ) said, "I will send with you such a trustworthy man who truly deserves to be called trustworthy." Upon hearing this, the companions (may Allah be pleased with them) began to look around, raising their heads. Then the Holy Prophet (ﷺ) sent Abu Ubaidah (may Allah be pleased with him) with them.
