حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ (١) ، حَدَّثَنَا الْأَوْزَاعِيُّ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ أَبِي كَثِيرٍ، عَنْ أَبِي قِلَابَةَ قَالَ: قَالَ أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ لِأَبِي مَسْعُودٍ، أَوْ قَالَ أَبُو مَسْعُودٍ لِأَبِي عَبْدِ اللهِ ـ يَعْنِي حُذَيْفَةَ ـ مَا سَمِعْتَ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ فِيَّ زَعَمُوا؟ قَالَ: سَمِعْتُهُ يَقُولُ: " بِئْسَ مَطِيَّةُ الرَّجُلِ " (٢)، ، . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .، ،
Translation
English translation
Abu Qilabah says that once one of Hudhayfah (may Allah be pleased with him) and Abu Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) asked the other, "What have you heard the Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) say regarding the phrase 'People say'?" The other replied, "I heard the Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) say that this is the worst mount of a person."
