حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ أَبَا إِسْحَاقَ يُحَدِّثُ، عَنْ صِلَةَ بْنِ زُفَرَ، عَنْ حُذَيْفَةَ أَنَّهُ قَالَ: جَاءَ أَهْلُ نَجْرَانَ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالُوا: ابْعَثُوا إِلَيْنَا رَجُلًا أَمِينًا، فَقَالَ: " لَأَبْعَثَنَّ إِلَيْكُمْ رَجُلًا أَمِينًا حَقَّ أَمِينٍ، حَقَّ أَمِينٍ "، قَالَ: فَاسْتَشْرَفَ لَهَا النَّاسُ، قَالَ: فَبَعَثَ أَبَا عُبَيْدةَ بْنَ الْجَرَّاحِ (٢)،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Hudhaifa (may Allah be pleased with him) that once some people came from Najran and said, "Please send with us a trustworthy man." The Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, "I will send with you such a trustworthy man who truly deserves to be called trustworthy." Upon hearing this, the companions (may Allah be pleased with them) started raising their heads and looking around. Then the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) sent Abu Ubaidah (may Allah be pleased with him) with them.
