حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، قَالَ: عَاصِمُ بْنُ كُلَيْبٍ: أَخْبَرَنِي، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ عِيَاضَ بْنَ مَرْثَدٍ، أَوْ مَرْثَدَ بْنَ عِيَاضٍ، عَنْ رَجُلٍ، مِنْهُمْ أَنَّهُ سَأَلَ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، عَنْ عَمَلٍ يُدْخِلُهُ الْجَنَّةَ، فَذَكَرَهُ إِلَّا أَنَّهُ قَالَ: " تَكْفِيهِمْ آلَتَهُمْ إِذَا حَضَرُوهُ، وَتَحْمِلُهُ إِلَيْهِمْ إِذَا غَابُوا عَنْهُ " (٢)،
Translation
English translation
A man asked the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), "O Messenger of Allah! Tell me about a deed that will admit me to Paradise..." Then the narrator mentioned the entire hadith and said: When people are present, protect their water-drawing vessels, and when they are absent (even if they have left), then pick them up and deliver them to them.
