حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، أَخْبَرَنِي عُبَيْدٌ (٢) الْمُكْتِبُ قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ أَبَا عَمْرٍو الشَّيْبَانِيَّ يُحَدِّثُ،، ، عَنْ رَجُلٍ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: سُئِلَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَيُّ الْعَمَلِ أَفْضَلُ؟ ـ قَالَ شُعْبَةُ: أَوْ قَالَ ـ " أَفْضَلُ الْعَمَلِ الصَّلَاةُ لِوَقْتِهَا، وَبِرُّ الْوَالِدَيْنِ، وَالْجِهَادُ " (١)،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from a Companion (may Allah be pleased with him) that a person asked the Noble Prophet (ﷺ), "Which deed is the best?" The Noble Prophet (ﷺ) replied, "The best deed is to perform prayer at its appointed time, to treat parents with kindness, and to strive in the way of Allah (jihad)."
