حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ مَنْصُورٍ، عَنْ رِبْعِيِّ بْنِ حِرَاشٍ، عَنْ بَعْضِ أَصْحَابِ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: أَصْبَحَ النَّاسُ صِيَامًا لِتَمَامِ ثَلَاثِينَ، قَالَ: فَجَاءَ أَعْرَابِيَّانِ، فَشَهِدَا أَنَّهُمَا أَهَلَّا الْهِلَالَ بِالْأَمْسِ، " فَأَمَرَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ النَّاسَ فَأَفْطَرُوا " (١)،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from a Companion (may Allah be pleased with him) that once the people were fasting on the 30th day of Ramadan when two villagers came to the service of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) and testified that they had seen the moon of Eid the previous night. So the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) ordered the people to break their fast.
