حَدَّثَنَا الْوَلِيدُ قَالَ: حَدَّثَنِي ابْنُ ثَوْبَانَ لَعَلَّهُ عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ ثَابِتِ بْنِ ثَوْبَانَ، عَنْ عُمَيْرِ بْنِ هَانِئٍ حَدَّثَهُ: عَنْ جُنَادَةَ بْنِ أَبِي أُمَيَّةَ، عَنْ عُبَادَةَ بْنِ الصَّامِتِ، عَنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مِثْلَ ذَلِكَ قَالَ: " مَا لَمْ يَأْمُرُوكَ بِإِثْمٍ بَوَاحًا " (٢)،
Translation
English translation
Al-Walid narrated to us, he said: Ibn Thawban—perhaps ‘Abd al-Rahman ibn Thabit ibn Thawban—narrated to me, from ‘Umayr ibn Hani’ who narrated to him, from Junadah ibn Abi Umayyah, from ‘Ubadah ibn al-Samit, from the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, similar to that, he said: "As long as they do not command you with manifest sin."
