حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ، عَنْ مَكْحُولٍ، عَنْ مَحْمُودِ بْنِ الرَّبِيعِ، عَنْ عُبَادَةَ بْنِ الصَّامِتِ قَالَ: صَلَّى بِنَا رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ صَلَاةَ الْغَدَاةِ فَثَقُلَتْ عَلَيْهِ الْقِرَاءَةُ فَلَمَّا انْصَرَفَ قَالَ: " إِنِّي لَأَرَاكُمْ تَقْرَءُونَ وَرَاءَ إِمَامِكُمْ ". قُلْنَا: نَعَمْ. وَاللهِ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، إِنَّا لَنَفْعَلُ هَذَا. قَالَ: " فَلَا تَفْعَلُوا إِلَّا بِأُمِّ الْقُرْآنِ؛ فَإِنَّهُ لَا صَلَاةَ لِمَنْ لَمْ يَقْرَأْ بِهَا " (١)، ،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Ubadah bin Samit (may Allah be pleased with him) that once the Noble Prophet (ﷺ) led us in prayer. During the recitation, he (peace be upon him) felt a heaviness upon himself. After finishing the prayer, he asked us, "Do you also recite (behind the Imam)?" We replied, "Yes, O Messenger of Allah!" The Noble Prophet (ﷺ) said, "If you do not do so, there is no sin upon you, except that you must recite Surah Al-Fatihah, for without it, the prayer is not valid."
