حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ، عَنِ ابْنِ (٢) إِسْحَاقَ، عَنْ مَكْحُولٍ، عَنْ مَحْمُودِ بْنِ الرَّبِيعِ، عَنْ عُبَادَةَ بْنِ الصَّامِتِ قَالَ: صَلَّى بِنَا رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَرَأَ، فَثَقُلَتْ عَلَيْهِ الْقِرَاءَةُ، فَلَمَّا فَرَغَ قَالَ: " تَقْرَءُونَ؟ " قُلْنَا: نَعَمْ. يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ. قَالَ: " لَا عَلَيْكُمْ أَنْ لَا تَفْعَلُوا إِلَّا بِفَاتِحَةِ الْكِتَابِ؛ فَإِنَّهُ لَا صَلَاةَ إِلَّا بِهَا " (٣)، ، . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .، ، . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .، ،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Ubadah bin Samit (may Allah be pleased with him) that once the Holy Prophet (ﷺ) led us in prayer. During the recitation, the Prophet (ﷺ) felt a heaviness upon himself. After finishing the prayer, he asked us, "Do you also recite (behind the Imam)?" We replied, "Yes, O Messenger of Allah!" The Holy Prophet (ﷺ) said, "If you do not do so, there is no sin upon you, except that you must recite Surah Al-Fatihah, for without it, the prayer is not valid."
