Original Arabic
حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ، حَدَّثَنَا لَيْثٌ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ أَبِي هِلَالٍ، عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ خَالِدٍ، أَنَّ أَبَا أُمَامَةَ الْبَاهِلِيَّ، مَرَّ عَلَى خَالِدِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ بْنِ مُعَاوِيَةَ فَسَأَلَهُ عَنْ أَلْيَنِ كَلِمَةٍ سَمِعَهَا مِنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ: سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ: " أَلَا كُلُّكُمْ يَدْخُلُ الْجَنَّةَ إِلَّا مَنْ شَرَدَ عَلَى اللهِ شِرَادَ الْبَعِيرِ عَلَى أَهْلِهِ " (١)، ،
Translation
English translation
Ali bin Khalid says that once Abu Umamah (may Allah be pleased with him) passed by Khalid bin Yazid, so he asked him, "Is there any gentle statement that you heard from the Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ)?" He replied, "I heard the Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) say: 'Behold! Every one of you will enter Paradise except the person who turns away from the obedience of Allah in such a manner as a camel bolts away from its owner.'"
