حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ، عَنْ مِسْعَرٍ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْعَدَبَّسِ، عَنْ رَجُلٍ أَظُنُّهُ أَبَا خَلَفٍ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مَرْزُوقٍ قَالَ: قَالَ أَبُو أُمَامَةَ: خَرَجَ عَلَيْنَا رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَلَمَّا رَأَيْنَاهُ قُمْنَا قَالَ: " فَإِذَا رَأَيْتُمُونِي فَلَا تَقُومُوا كَمَا يَفْعَلُ الْعَجَمُ يُعَظِّمُ بَعْضُهَا بَعْضًا ". قَالَ: كَأَنَّا اشْتَهَيْنَا أَنْ يَدْعُوَ لَنَا فَقَالَ: " اللهُمَّ اغْفِرْ لَنَا وَارْحَمْنَا، وَارْضَ عَنَّا، وَتَقَبَّلْ مِنَّا وَأَدْخِلْنَا الْجَنَّةَ، وَنَجِّنَا مِنَ النَّارِ، وَأَصْلِحْ لَنَا شَأْنَنَا كُلَّهُ " (١)،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Abu Umamah (may Allah be pleased with him) that once the Noble Prophet (ﷺ) came out to us leaning on a staff, so we stood up out of respect. The Noble Prophet (ﷺ) said: Do not stand up as the non-Arabs do, who honor each other in this manner. We wished that the Noble Prophet (ﷺ) would supplicate for us, so the Noble Prophet (ﷺ) made this supplication: O Allah! Forgive us, have mercy on us, be pleased with us, accept our good deeds, admit us into Paradise, grant us salvation from Hell, and set right all our affairs.
