حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بِشْرٍ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ عَامِرٍ الْأَسْلَمِيُّ، عَنِ الْوَلِيدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ، عَنْ جُبَيْرِ بْنِ نُفَيْرٍ، عَنْ مُعَاذِ بْنِ جَبَلٍ، قَالَ: قَالَ لَنَا رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " اسْتَعِيذُوا بِاللهِ مِنْ طَمَعٍ يَهْدِي إِلَى طَبْعٍ، وَمِنْ طَمَعٍ يَهْدِي إِلَى غَيْرِ مَطْمَعٍ، وَمِنْ طَمَعٍ حَيْثُ لَا طَمَعَ " (١)،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Mu'adh (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (ﷺ) once said to us: Seek refuge with Allah from that greed which reaches the state of sealing the hearts; also seek refuge from that greed which leads to something purposeless; and seek refuge with Allah from such greed where there is no greed at all.
