حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ، أَخْبَرَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ أَيُّوبَ، حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ أَبِي حَبِيبٍ، أَنَّ عَبْدَ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنَ شِمَاسَةَ، أَخْبَرَهُ، ، أَنَّ زَيْدَ بْنَ ثَابِتٍ، قَالَ: بَيْنَا نَحْنُ عِنْدَ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ نُؤَلِّفُ الْقُرْآنَ مِنَ الرِّقَاعِ إِذْ قَالَ: "طُوبَى لِلشَّامِ " قِيلَ: وَلِمَ ذَلِكَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ؟ قَالَ: "إِنَّ مَلَائِكَةَ الرَّحْمَنِ بَاسِطَةٌ أَجْنِحَتَهَا عَلَيْهَا " (١)،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Zaid bin Thabit (may Allah be pleased with him) that one day we were sitting with the Noble Prophet (ﷺ) when the Noble Prophet (ﷺ) said twice, "Glad tidings for the land of Shaam." I asked, "What is special about Shaam?" The Noble Prophet (ﷺ) replied, "The angels have spread their wings over the land of Shaam."
