حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ، حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ يَعْنِي ابْنَ أَبِي زِيَادٍ، عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ وَهْبٍ، عَنْ أَبِي ذَرٍّ، قَالَ: جَاءَ رَجُلٌ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، فَقَالَ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، أَكَلَتْنَا الضَّبُعُ؟ قَالَ: "غَيْرُ ذَلِكَ أَخْوَفُ عِنْدِي عَلَيْكُمْ مِنْ ذَلِكَ، أَنْ تُصَبَّ عَلَيْكُمُ الدُّنْيَا صَبًّا، فَلَيْتَ أُمَّتِي لَا يَلْبَسُونَ الذَّهَبَ " (١)، ،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Abu Dharr (may Allah be pleased with him) that once the Holy Prophet (ﷺ) was delivering a sermon when a hard-natured Bedouin stood up and said, "O Messenger of Allah! Famine will consume us." The Holy Prophet (ﷺ) said, "I fear another thing for you regarding yourselves: when the world will be poured upon you. I wish that at that time my Ummah would not wear gold jewelry."
