Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Abu Dharr (may Allah be pleased with him) that once I presented myself in the court of the Messenger, and the Noble Prophet (ﷺ) was in the mosque. I also joined the gathering. The Noble Prophet (ﷺ) asked me, "O Abu Dharr (may Allah be pleased with him), have you performed the prayer?" I replied, "No." The Noble Prophet (ﷺ) said, "Then stand up and perform the prayer." So I stood up, performed the prayer, and then rejoined the gathering. The Noble Prophet (ﷺ) said, "O Abu Dharr! Seek Allah's protection from the evil of the devils among humans and jinn." I asked, "O Messenger of Allah! Are there devils among humans as well?" The Noble Prophet (ﷺ) replied, "Yes." I asked, "O Messenger of Allah! What is the ruling regarding prayer?" He said, "It is the best subject; whoever wishes may gain little from it, and whoever wishes may gain much." I asked, "O Messenger of Allah (ﷺ), what is the ruling regarding fasting?" He said, "It is an obligation; if it is fulfilled, it suffices, and with Allah there is additional reward for it." I asked, "O Messenger of Allah! What is the ruling regarding charity?" He said, "Its reward is multiplied twofold, threefold." I asked, "O Messenger of Allah! Which charity is the best?" He said, "The charity from the effort of one who has little wealth, or the secret charity to a needy person." I asked, "O Messenger of Allah! Who was the first Prophet?" He said, "Adam (peace be upon him)." I asked, "O Messenger of Allah! Was he a Prophet?" He said, "Yes, and moreover, a Prophet to whom Allah spoke." I asked, "O Messenger of Allah! How many Messengers were sent?" He said, "A little over three hundred and ten, a great group." I asked, "O Messenger of Allah! Which is the greatest verse revealed to you?" He said, "Ayat al-Kursi."
