حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ، عَنْ سِمَاكٍ، عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ سَمُرَةَ: أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " كَانَ يَخْطُبُ قَائِمًا وَيَجْلِسُ، ثُمَّ يَقُومُ وَيَقْرَأُ آيَاتٍ وَيَذْكُرُ اللهَ، وَكَانَتْ خُطْبَتُهُ قَصْدًا، وَصَلَاتُهُ، ، قَصْدًا " (١)،

Translation

English translation

It is narrated from Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (ﷺ) used to deliver two sermons on Friday. First, he would deliver one sermon, then sit down, and then stand up and deliver the second sermon. The Prophet’s (ﷺ) sermon and prayer were moderate, and he would recite verses from the Noble Qur’an on the pulpit.
