Musnad Ahmad Hadith 20983

It is narrated from Jabir bin Samurah (may Allah be pleased with him) that Ma'iz bin Malik, who was a short-statured man, was brought before the Prophet (ﷺ) wearing only a waistcloth, with no other sheet on his body. The Prophet (ﷺ) was sitting reclining on his left side on a cushion. The Prophet (ﷺ) spoke to him about some matters, but I do not know what those matters were because there was a crowd between me and the Prophet (ﷺ). After a short while, the Prophet (ﷺ) said, "Take him away." After some time, he said, "Bring him back." This time, I heard what the Prophet (ﷺ) said to him. Then the Prophet (ﷺ) said, "Take him away and stone him." Then the Prophet (ﷺ) stood up to deliver a sermon, which I also heard. Whenever any of our group goes out for jihad in the way of Allah, whoever stays behind among them, his voice is like that of a goat, and whoever gives someone even a little milk—by Allah, whoever is able to punish him, I will surely punish him.
