حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، عَنْ ابْنِ عَوْنٍ، عَنِ الشَّعْبِيِّ، عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ سَمُرَةَ، قَالَ: كُنْتُ مَعَ أَبِي، أَوْ مَعَ ابْنِي، قَالَ: وَذَكَرَ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، فَقَالَ: " لَا يَزَالُ هَذَا الْأَمْرُ عَزِيزًا مَنِيعًا يُنْصَرُونَ عَلَى مَنْ نَاوَأَهُمْ عَلَيْهِ إِلَى اثْنَيْ عَشَرَ خَلِيفَةً "، ثُمَّ تَكَلَّمَ بِكَلِمَةٍ أَصَمَّنِيهَا النَّاسُ، فَقُلْتُ لِأَبِي:، أَوْ لِابْنِي، مَا الْكَلِمَةُ الَّتِي أَصَمَّنِيهَا النَّاسُ؟ قَالَ: " كُلُّهُمْ مِنْ قُرَيْشٍ " (١)،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Jabir bin Samurah (may Allah be pleased with him) that I heard the Prophet (ﷺ) saying during the Farewell Pilgrimage that this religion will always prevail over its opponents; no one who opposes or separates from it will be able to harm it, until twelve caliphs have passed among my Ummah. Then the Prophet (ﷺ) said something which I did not understand. I asked my father, "What did the Prophet (ﷺ) say?" He replied, "The Prophet (ﷺ) said: All of them will be from the Quraysh."
