حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ بْنِ عُمَيْرٍ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ جَابِرَ بْنَ سَمُرَةَ السُّوَائِيَّ، يَقُولُ: سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ: " لَا يَزَالُ هَذَا الْأَمْرُ مَاضِيًا حَتَّى يَقُومَ اثْنَا عَشَرَ أَمِيرًا "، ثُمَّ تَكَلَّمَ بِكَلِمَةٍ خَفِيَتْ عَلَيَّ، سَأَلْتُ أَبِي: مَا قَالَ؟ قَالَ: " كُلُّهُمْ مِنْ قُرَيْشٍ " (٢)،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Jabir bin Samurah (may Allah be pleased with him) that I heard the Prophet (ﷺ) saying during the Farewell Pilgrimage that this religion will always prevail over its opponents; no one who opposes or separates from it will be able to harm it, until twelve caliphs have passed among my Ummah. Then the Prophet (ﷺ) said something which I did not understand. I asked my father, "What did the Prophet (ﷺ) say?" He replied, "The Prophet (ﷺ) said: All of them will be from the Quraysh."
