حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو سَعِيدٍ، حَدَّثَنَا زَائِدَةُ، حَدَّثَنَا سِمَاكٌ،، ، عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ سَمُرَةَ، قَالَ: " مَا رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَطُّ يَخْطُبُ فِي الْجُمُعَةِ إِلَّا قَائِمًا، فَمَنْ حَدَّثَكَ أَنَّهُ جَلَسَ فَكَذِّبْهُ، فَإِنَّهُ لَمْ يَفْعَلْ، كَانَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَخْطُبُ ثُمَّ يَقْعُدُ، ثُمَّ يَقُومُ فَيَخْطُبُ، كَانَ يَخْطُبُ خُطْبَتَيْنِ، يَقْعُدُ بَيْنَهُمَا فِي الْجُمُعَةِ " (١)،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that I saw the Prophet (ﷺ) delivering the sermon while standing. Therefore, if anyone among you says that he saw the Prophet (ﷺ) delivering the sermon while sitting, he is not telling the truth. The Prophet (ﷺ) used to deliver two sermons: first, he would deliver one sermon and then sit down, then stand up and deliver the second sermon.
