حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ، عَنْ جَامِعِ بْنِ شَدَّادٍ، عَنْ صَفْوَانَ بْنِ مُحْرِزٍ الْمَازِنِيِّ، عَنْ عِمْرَانَ بْنِ حُصَيْنٍ قَالَ: جَاءَ نَفَرٌ مِنْ بَنِي تَمِيمٍ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ: " أَبْشِرُوا ". قَالُوا: بَشَّرْتَنَا فَأَعْطِنَا. قَالَ: فَقَدِمَ عَلَيْهِ حَيٌّ مِنَ الْيَمَنِ، فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " اقْبَلُوا الْبُشْرَى إِذْ لَمْ يَقْبَلْهَا بَنُو تَمِيمٍ " (٢)،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Imran bin Husain (may Allah be pleased with him) that once some people from Banu Tamim came to the service of the Prophet (ﷺ). The Prophet (ﷺ) said to them, "O Banu Tamim! Accept the glad tidings." They said, "O Messenger of Allah! You have given us glad tidings, now grant us something as well." Upon hearing this, the color of the blessed face of the Prophet (ﷺ) changed. After a short while, a tribe from Yemen arrived, so the Prophet (ﷺ) said to them, "Banu Tamim did not accept the glad tidings, you accept them." They submitted, "O Messenger of Allah! We have accepted them."
