حَدَّثَنَا حُسَيْنُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ، عَنْ زَائِدَةَ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ بْنِ عُمَيْرٍ، عَنْ أَبِي بُرْدَةَ بْنِ أَبِي مُوسَى، عَنْ أَبِي مُوسَى قَالَ: مَرِضَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَاشْتَدَّ مَرَضُهُ فَقَالَ: " مُرُوا أَبَا بَكْرٍ يُصَلِّي (١) بِالنَّاسِ ". فَقَالَتْ عَائِشَةُ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ إِنَّ أَبَا بَكْرٍ رَجُلٌ رَقِيقٌ. مَتَى يَقُومُ مَقَامَكَ لَا يَسْتَطِيعُ أَنْ يُصَلِّيَ بِالنَّاسِ. قَالَ: " مُرُوا أَبَا بَكْرٍ فَلْيُصَلِّ بِالنَّاسِ؛ فَإِنَّكُنَّ صَوَاحِبَاتُ يُوسُفَ " فَأَتَاهُ الرَّسُولُ، فَصَلَّى أَبُو بَكْرٍ بِالنَّاسِ فِي حَيَاةِ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ. Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Abu Musa (may Allah be pleased with him) that when the Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) fell ill and his illness kept increasing, he said, "Order Abu Bakr to lead the people in prayer." Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) submitted, "O Messenger of Allah! Abu Bakr is a very soft-hearted man; when he stands in your place, he will not be able to lead the people in prayer." The Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) again said, "Tell Abu Bakr to lead the people in prayer. You are like the women of Yusuf." So the messenger went to Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him), and during the blessed life of the Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ), he led the prayer. The previous hadith is also narrated through this second chain.
