حَدَّثَنَا أَسْوَدُ بْنُ عَامِرٍ، حَدَّثَنَا إِسْرَائِيلُ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ، عَنْ أَبِي بُرْدَةَ،، ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ رَفَعَهُ قَالَ: " تُسْتَأْمَرُ الْيَتِيمَةُ فِي نَفْسِهَا، فَإِنْ سَكَتَتْ فَقَدْ أَذِنَتْ، وَإِنْ أَبَتْ فَلَا تُزَوَّجْ " (١)،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Abu Musa (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (ﷺ) said: The permission of a mature girl should be sought for her marriage; if she remains silent, it is as if she has given permission, and if she refuses, she should not be forced into that relationship.
