حَدَّثَنَا حَسَنُ بْنُ مُوسَى، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو هِلَالٍ، حَدَّثَنَا قَتَادَةَ، (٢) عَنْ أَبِي بُرْدَةَ قَالَ: قَالَ أَبُو مُوسَى: " يَا بُنَيَّ كَيْفَ لَوْ رَأَيْتَنَا وَنَحْنُ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَرِيحُنَا رِيحُ الضَّأْنِ " (٣)، ،

Translation

English translation

Abu Musa (may Allah be pleased with him) once said to his son Abu Burdah, "Son! If you had seen that time, how would you have felt that we used to be with the Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ), and a smell like that of sheep and goats would come from us (because of rainwater falling on our coarse clothes)."
